course reflection

In this course we learned new things and I’m going to talk about it in this reflection. In the beginning of the semester most of what we did in class was about writing summaries it’s a new thing for me and it was very helpful because I used the strategy in writhing a report. We did two essays in this course and we couldn’t copy anything because Mr. Gregory knows how to bring the original site. For the report we needed to know to to make the references right so we learn how to use bibme it a site to make biography and to share this work with other and with the teacher we did the blogger site to put all the work there and all the others can see what we did in the semester. Mr. Gregory was very good in showing us what we have to do and how we do it and he has a nice way to give the information to us and I think he is the best teacher teach me this subject. It wasn’t a hard subject it just need some focus and come to class I really enjoyed this semester and I hope everyone got what they need from it and I learn new thing I wasn’t know before and I can use it in the future even in my work maybe I hope everybody pass this course because it was nice and easy for us and I hope we all pass the course

The evolution of calculator
In these days people use calculator to solve the math complicated questions or math homework and its helpful for people who aren’t that good in math. Or if you are a business man and you have a big responsibility in your work and you can’t calculate big numbers because you will be afraid to have something wrong. Even in education (school – college) students use calculators all the time to help them in math the math class. However calculator wasn’t always that easy to use. In this project we are going to see how its developed over time. And who develop it and where it happened and why.

In the early days (200BC) the Egyptians created the calculator they called it “the abacus “it was a wide wooden ladder with beads to resent ones, tens, hundreds and so on. Before 1750 years Greeks created a calculator that has a different system toward astronomic they created the first analog computer the analog computer was pretty much to know the location of the sun, moon, and other planets.

The calculator really to began to develop "in c1600 Napiers bones invented by john Napier for multiplication based on the ancient numerical scheme known as the Arabian lattice and in 1620 William dividers, which was forerunner of the slide rule" ( the evolution of calculator – Wikipedia ). After two years Willhem Oughterd invented the calculator side rule and in 1663 it was the rectilinear version in 1623 the first mechanical calculator invented by Willhem Schickard “calculating clock” he used a version of Napiers bones multiplication with a mechanical adding and subtracting calculator based on gears, with mutilated gears for different use.

In 1800-1899 there was plethora of mathematical system that included adding and subtracting, multiplication, and division in one. Then they made re models and changes so it might be easier to come up with calculations. From 20th century to the present, 1900s ( current time) calculator changed a lot even more in the method of how it work now it can do more complicated equations and it can do more than one operation at a time. Calculators also developed to be faster and easier to use. Instead of sliding breads oe punching in numbers one at a time, now you can select any number you want and it doesn’t matter if it’s a big number or a small number because it can solve even the hardest numbers.

In this project ewe have seen the early history of the calculator and know how it developed over time and what type of calculator people used b4 and after the development. And how it changed from wooden calculator that was heavy to a light calculator made from plastic that can be taken anywhere and can be used for more than one operation in time. You can even have a calculator in your computer and watch. Technology of the calculator always develops and everyday companies improve something in it because they want it to be easier for people and users.

MASDAR NEW PROJECT

Masdar is a company for the clean energy in Abu Dhabi. It have building cost millions it will be near the Saudi border and it’s the first kind in the gulf, the power come from the wind.
The problem is that the gulf is not a windy region so they are developing special blades to have more power from light breezes; they are under pressure because it has to finish by 2020.
Masdar is owned by mubadla development that owned by Abu Dhabi government it’s given the responsibility to finish the target and it already have two project like shams 1 and nour 1.
The plant still in the early stages, masdar site is developing near KSA because the wind there is stronger than the island.
In January the wind will begin to produce power and it depend in the study of team masdar in six weeks.
If they chose the right land and right wind they will have a good result. The must challenge the have is the wind because it limited in UAE.
The plant might take 200 m to build in average cost 2m for each power.
